Approved New Data Protection Law Available on Guernsey Legal Resources Website

The text of the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017 has now been added to the Guernsey Legal Resources website, following its approval by the UK Privy Council last month.

The Law, which is scheduled to come into force on 25 May 2018, can be found by clicking here.

Two draft Ordinances will be placed before the States of Deliberation next month for approval.  These are :- The Data Protection (Commencement, Amendment and Transitional) (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Ordinance, 2018 The Data Protection (Law Enforcement and Related Matters) (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Ordinance, 2018
