Due to the Bailiwick's restrictions over in-person events during Jan/Feb 2021, we released this recording of an earlier session on this topic from 2019.
The speaker is Rachel Masterton, the Bailiwick's Deputy Data Protection Commissioner.
Note: The audio has been edited to remove the group activity as well as the Q&A session at the end.
Please see the YouTube video description box for links to resources relevant to this session.
AIM:
we want people to come away from this session with a sense of how data protection works in practice. This is aimed at staff with little or no specialist data protection knowledge.
CONTENT:
we will explore the 'coalface' of data protection, what you need to do from a practical perspective to achieve and demonstrate compliance. We will do this via a worked case study of a hypothetical organisation. We will also touch on breach reporting.
The Bailiwick of Guernsey's independent supervisory authority which regulates data protection legislation.
