Commissioner Brent Homan will spend the night sleeping rough to help raise awareness of homelessness in Guernsey and support practical solutions that give everyone a place to call home.
The Big Skipton Sleep Out, in support of Caritas Guernsey, brings islanders together in an act of empathy and solidarity. By pledging to sleep out, participants aim to raise funds secure modular homes, restoring dignity and independence to those who need it most.
One in 64 people in Guernsey lack access to secure housing - a higher rate than in the UK.
While traditional routes to home ownership aren’t accessible for some, we’re working to help create practical solutions that bring people closer to safe, stable housing.
Every pound raised goes towards Caritas’ modular housing project, providing real shelter and a new start for islanders in need.
Last year, 150 people took part and raised more than £40,000.
